Here is a fabulous and unusual Dutch Export Silver Owl Inkwell. With English import marks for B.H. Joseph & Co (1865-1929). B.H. Joseph & Co was noted as importer of Dutch silver made by J. v Straten & Co of Hoorn (1892) and A de Pleyt of Schoonhoven (1894).
This piece weighs a substantial total of 421 grams and features the original glass eyes. Superior craftsmanship is abundant in this wonderful late 19th century piece.
Missing original inkwell insert but could be easily replaced if desired.
Measures approx. 4.25 inches high x 5.5 inches wide.
