A wonderfully decorative vintage Louis Vuitton soft-sided suitcase, finished in the house’s iconic Monogram canvas with richly aged leather trim, reinforced corners, carrying straps and original hardware. Substantial in scale and full of authentic character, this piece has the unmistakable look of well-travelled vintage Louis Vuitton and makes a striking decorative object for a sophisticated interior, retail display, dressing room, library, hotel or collector’s space.
The suitcase is constructed in classic brown Louis Vuitton monogram canvas, patterned throughout with the familiar LV initials and floral motifs, and finished with warm brown leather edging, corner reinforcements and exterior straps. The leather has developed a deep, attractive patina over time, with considerable age-related wear, surface loss, cracking, abrasions and dryness visible throughout.
The front retains its original rounded leather carrying handle with metal fittings, along with the original Louis Vuitton padlock. The padlock is present, though no key is included. The perimeter zippers remain functional and close properly, an important surviving feature given the age and condition of the piece.
The interior is lined in cream fabric and retains its original packing straps and fittings.
